Recitations from the mihrab — listen as the Sunnah teaches
The Prophet ﷺ on listening
Ibn Masʿūd said: the Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Recite to me." I said, "Shall I recite to you, when it was revealed to you?" He said, "I love to hear it from someone else." So I recited Sūrat an-Nisāʾ to him until I reached [4:41]. He said, "That is enough." I turned to him — and his eyes were overflowing with tears.
The Prophet ﷺ said to Abū Mūsā: "Had you seen me listening to your recitation last night — you have been given one of the beautiful voices of the family of Dāwūd."
